Amy Mercer, Higher Apprentice at Pfizer, has been named WINNER of the WISE One to Watch Award 2017

Amy Mercer, Higher Apprentice at Pfizer, has been named WINNER of the WISE One to Watch Award 2017, which recognised the outstanding contributions of women in STEM at a glittering ceremony in London with Royal Patron of WISE, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and 500 guests.

Amy is an enthusiastic and active advocate of STEM, engaging whenever possible with younger generations in order to share and promote her passion for science. As a firm believer in equal opportunities and a supporter of women in science Amy is especially keen to reach out to potential female scientists of the future as early as possible when they are most impressionable. Following a recent SIP event, at which she presented to an audience of respected cross-industry professionals, Amy was approached to feature as a case study in a magazine article – an opportunity which she took to address the gender stereotypes that are often found within science and engineering.

All the winners receive a money-can’t-buy prize of a day’s work shadowing a director from sponsor companies BAM Nuttall, Goldman Sachs, Babcock, NHS England, Rolls-Royce PLC, Intel, MBDA, Aveva, Thales and AWE.

Please join us in congratulating Amy on this fantastic achievement!
