Apprenticeships: Invest in your employees and boost productivity
As the UK prepares to elect a new Government the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) has published its own manifesto calling for business leaders, education and professional bodies to work together to safeguard the future economic prosperity of the UK.
The UK currently lags behind its G7 competitors’ average productivity levels by an average of 18% - and 35% behind Germany. Poor management is estimated to cost the UK £84bn in lost productivity a year.
Apprenticeships are a big part of the answer to this challenge – with evidence showing that, on average, businesses see productivity gains of £10,000 per year for each apprentice they employ.
