Mark graduated from Coventry University with an honours degree in Engineering and joined VSEL PLC in 1987 as a Graduate Apprentice. He worked on the build programme of a number of nuclear submarines, including roles as a Nuclear Reactor Test Engineer and ultimately Deputy Procedure Authorisation Group Chairman.

In 1997 he joined Devonport Management Limited at Devonport Royal Dockyard (which itself joined Babcock International Group's Marine and Technology Division in 2007) holding posts such as the first Trident Facility Plant Manager, Nuclear Operations Director and finally Nuclear Safety and Quality Director.

Mark joined Cavendish Nuclear in April 2013 as Managing Director, Dounreay. He recently relinquished that role after 2½ years guiding the site through a number of significant contractual changes and safety and organisational challenges.

Mark has now returned to the Cavendish Nuclear centre in his current role which involves taking an overview of the company's people agenda and its Japanese Decommissioning business.

Mark is married with two children.
