Cogent Skills role is to work with businesses operating in the science industries to give employers the skills solutions required to boost productivity and profitability. We do this by identifying skills gaps and shortages across the Sector and developing employer focussed solutions. We work with employers to identify industry’s changing needs to make sure that qualifications and Apprenticeships are in place to give employees the skills and knowledge required by the business.
We are licensed by government to produce and maintain National Occupational Standards (NOS) for the science industries. We work with awarding bodies, educators and training providers to make sure qualifications deliver maximum value to learners and employers.
We have worked with nuclear sector employers for several years to develop the Nuclear Industry Training Framework, a suite of documents comprising Industry Training Standards, Training Programme Guidelines and Job Contexts. (Job Contexts follow exactly the structure of Cogent Gold Standards, and refer to nuclear job roles only). This Framework is owned and operated by Cogent on behalf of the industry, and is available for access by companies in the joint Cogent/NSAN membership scheme via the Nuclear Training Network portal at www.nucleartrainingnetwork.com
You will need a user account to access the full functions of the Nuclear Training Network, including accessing the Nuclear Industry Training Framework. You can see the contact details for any queries about membership and user accounts on the Nuclear Training Network home page.
