Justine Fosh, currently Group Chief Executive of the National Skills Academy for Food and Drink (NSAFD), will be appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Cogent Skills Group replacing Joanna Woolf who will become Group Chair.
Joanna will step down as CEO at the end of April, taking up the role of Chair and Justine’s appointment as CEO becomes effective on 4th May.
The Boards of Cogent Skills, the Sector Skills Council (SSC) for the science based industries, and the NSAFD, the SSC for the food and drink industry, are in the process of finalising arrangements to merge these organisations, in order to build scale and increase influence on behalf of the STEM industries they represent.
Both organisations are not for profit and share a common purpose of meeting the skills and training needs of employers and the workforce through fit-for-purpose skills solutions and raising standards. Cogent Skills already supports influential employer networks including the Science Industry Partnership and the Nuclear Skills Strategy Group. As part of the Cogent Skills family, NSAFD would operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Cogent Skills maintaining its focus on the food and drink industry while benefiting from collaborations across the breadth of the science industries.
